Do you dream of having a clean, minimal closet with a wardrobe made up of only pieces you love?

The biggest piece of feedback I’ve gotten from my one-on-one clients over the last six years is that they felt so much lighter after I helped them let go of all of the random articles of clothing that weren’t working for them. All of a sudden, before we even bought any new clothes, getting dressed became a lot easier. We think we need to hold onto all those old things to have options, but the truth is, they’re only obscuring what we need to be able to see.

In the Making Space course, we’ll work through all of the emotional blocks that are keeping you from letting go.

About Dacy

Personal Stylist

Dacy Gillespie

(Official bio) As a personal stylist, Dacy Gillespie intuitively guides her clients to discover what they feel best in. She helps them let go of the external messages they’ve been given about what they should wear and get to the heart of what’s making them uncomfortable about their clothes. Through their work building a functional wardrobe, Dacy’s clients make a mindset shift from thinking they need to wear what’s flattering to unapologetically taking up space in the world. After a lifetime of jobs in high-stress careers that didn’t suit her highly-sensitive, introverted personality, Dacy started mindful closet in 2013 in an attempt to create a more emotionally sustainable lifestyle. She has two boys, ages 5 and 9, and a husband she adores who is well aware of her mental load. (About me personally) I’m an introvert, a highly-sensitive person, an INFJ, a Human Design projector, an empath, and a Cancer. While all that means that I’m constantly overwhelmed by emotion and sensory overload, it also means that I’m super-intuitive about seeing what’s going on with other people, and super-empathetic, which comes in handy when clients have to get vulnerable with me. I’m on a mission to help women stop wasting time and energy on getting dressed because they’re trying to conform into a way of dressing or buying that doesn’t work for them, and actually, has actively been working to make them feel bad about themselves.

WHAT OTHERS HAVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT EDITING THEIR CLOSET WITH DACY:

It’s such a relief to have a more consolidated wardrobe, to know what pieces I need to focus on, and to know which pieces I should avoid. -Veronica

I have felt so much better about my clothes, and I continue to let go of pieces that don’t work for me anymore.  -Michelle

Eliminating clothes from my closet could have been tragically painful. Instead it seemed like the easiest decisions I had made in a long time. Dacy helped me find the freedom of owning less.  -Brooke

Making Space is an excellent course. There is so much emotion, history and self image stuff going on with what we wear and why. Dacy effectively helped me to sort through all of that to get to the heart of getting dressed in flattering, appropriate clothing without the stress and angst. The course guided me in identifying my style, taught me why some items weren't working and helped me to let go of them. It also helped me hone in on what items were truly missing/needed and purchase clothes that would make my life easier. Before this course, I did not appreciate the impact of "visual clutter" and why it makes getting dressed for the day more complicated than it needs to be. Finally, Dacy is understanding about the sentimental value of clothing (that sweater your mom knitted for your first day of kindergarten); she doesn't insist that everything sentimental must go, just that it not sit in the middle of your rack of clothing for everyday. I am grateful for Dacy's expertise and her gentle spirit.

This course really helped me identify my personal style and use that information to evaluate the clothing I have and whether it fits into lifestyle. It also helped me to organize my clothing in a way that makes getting myself put together for any occasion much simpler. I didn't realize how much time/energy I had been spending staring at my closet until I got it organized and also did some reflection on the clothes I have, why I have them, whether I should keep them, and what types of things I should bring into my closet in the future. My closet is now streamlined much more manageable.

It was very revealing to me, especially taking a "count" of my clothing, I made many realizations and it further reiterated that purging is a process, I can't do it in one swell swoop it's going to take me time. The book "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" was also amazing and was a wonderful suggestion to read during taking the course.

I really enjoyed being a part of the Mindful Closet course this winter. It was an eye-opening experience, and I've even been working at honing my wardrobe for the past few years - Dacy really helps you pull it all together. The pace is great, if you are serious about rethinking the way you dress from a wholistic perspective, this is for you. It was helpful to set the stage in week one, dig into the work of handling all of your clothes in week two and three, and then exploring the best way to fill in any gaps, I felt like I was able to make sustainable changes in my habits and my mindset. Dacy's empathetic and open demeanor, and the group dynamics within the Facebook page, helped build accountability and quick feedback into what can easily be an overwhelming task. Dacy guides the process and is ready to answer every question and stumbling block a participant can throw her way in the weekly videos. She relates well to the struggles that we faced, and is ready to help you through them. I learned a lot from my fellow participants, and was grateful to know others were working on this at the same time as me. I highly recommend the course if you are looking to open your closet each morning and not feel an ounce of stress, but rather confidence and relief that you love all of your options AND they work for you, in whatever season of life you may be in.

This class helped me determine my style preferences, figure out how to move toward that look and generally improve my appearance, and was immensely supportive in helping me eliminate all the items in my closet not moving toward that goal. Dressing is less stressful and I look better and my home is a bit less cluttered. The class took some time. You have to put some serious effort into it. I found it well worth the time, effort, and initial cost. In fact, I'm pretty sure in the long run it saved me time, effort, and money!
